Special Events
WestGate Academy Conferencing and Training Center organizes and hosts a variety of community events. The purpose of many of these events is to provide opportunities to the regional communities. Listed below are several events our staff organizes and hosts.

Get Outdoors Day

The first Get Outdoors Day took place at the WestGate Technology Park in 2016. The day was meant to get people interested in taking part in outdoor activities and leading a healthier lifestyle, according to STIMULUS Engineering Director of Business Operations, Kimberly Frazier.

Running for Our Future 5K

Thousands of dollars were raised at the third annual Running for Our Future Race 5K June 11, 2016. All proceeds benefit STEM focused scholarships to be awarded at the annual WestGate@Crane College Fair in the fall. The race was held in honor of former NSWC Crane Commander and Battery Innovation Center President, Chuck LaSota.

STEM Summer Camp

STEM Summer Camp challenges the minds of young people with an interest in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM). Last year’s camp (June 13 – July 8) offered many activities to children in 2nd – 10th grades.

WestGate@Crane College Fair

Not only does the fair provide students with information on surrounding colleges and universities, but it also allows the students to apply for scholarships. 800 students and more than 35 colleges and universities attended last year’s event, making the fair a huge success for the region. We hope to see even more participants in the coming years.
